During the concerts, the performers showcased their God-given talents while the audience enjoyed musical performances as a mean to express their feelings and relieve their stress. 2024-02-23Ash WednesdayOn February 23, at 7:25 in the morning, nearly thirty teachers and students from primary and secondary schools gathered for a Thanksgiving Mass and received ashes, beginning a forty-day period of prayer, self-discipline, fasting, and charitable acts to improve their bad habits and prepare for Easter. 2024-02-06Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Gifted Logic Competition 2023 (Hong Kong Region)The Gifted Education Group recommended two Form 1 students to participate in the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Gifted Logic Competition 2023 (Hong Kong Region) organized by the Hong Kong Gifted Education Teachers' Association and KPG Education Limited. 1A students Chiu Yu Zing Emmanuel and Yang Qi Cheng were awarded the Silver Prize. 2024-02-05New Year's boothIn celebration of Chinese New Year, the ECA team, Parent-teacher association, and various clubs organized different booths for students to experience the festive atmosphere. Parents also sold food at the event, and the Library Club invited retired teachers to guide students in writing traditional Chinese couplets. 2024-01-26Blessing of Holy Family StatueAfter the celebration of Don Bosco Feast Day and Thanksgiving Day on January 26th, Form 1 and Form 2 students, Salesian Youth Altar Boys Sodality members, parent representatives, and teachers gathered at the Sow Garden to participate in the consecration ceremony of the Holy Family statue. 2024-01-26Visiting the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal DefenceIn order to introduce students to the history of Hong Kong, our school arranged a visit to the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, where students learned about the history of the Battle of Hong Kong during the Pacific War and the British Army's garrison in Hong Kong. It is hoped that through visiting the museum and exploring wartime relics, students will gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's military history. 2024-01-24Inter-sodality Game DayOn January 24th, the Salesian Youth Sodalities jointly organised the "Salesian Youth Sodality Joint-sodality Match Day". 2024-01-22It's Cultural Week!English Corner held the Cultural Week from 22nd to 24th January and this year the theme was "Food Culture". 2024-01-20Scout service at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2024One leader and four team leaders from our school volunteered at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on January 20 and 21. They assisted in distributing athletes' race packs, bibs, souvenirs, and other items, as well as managing luggage storage and crowd control on the race day. 2024-01-20My Motherland in My Eyes eventTo deepen the understanding of our country among teenagers and encourage them to care about our society, the Eastern District Youth Development and Civic Education Committee recently held the "My Motherland in My Eyes" Youth National and Civic Education Day. The activities include workshops, booth games, music performances, and movie screenings. 2024-01-15Snooker promotion activityMr. Marco Fu, a famous Hong Kong snooker player who has won the ranking championship three times and is ranked fifth in the world, visited our school for a snooker symposium. Mr. Marco Fu shared everything on his snooker career and promoted this sport. At the end of the event, Mr. Fu shared some instructions and rules on playing snooker. 2024-01-13Scout 17th Hong Kong Group 78th Investiture CeremonyOn January 13, our Scout, Cub Scout, and Venture Scout groups held a joint oath and promotion ceremony in the student activity room of Salesian School. To continue the festivities and add to the holiday atmosphere, the festival also featured lion dance performances. 2023-12-21Visit to Mai Po Nature ReserveExplore the beauty of Hong Kong's wetlands and appreciate the natural environment by learning about different wetland habitats. Students will also participate in photography competitions organized by the school. 2023-12-21Christmas partyThe Christmas celebration event was moved indoors to the school gym due to a cold weather warning. On that day, Fr. Leung led a religious ceremony and the Salesian Youth Sodality members organized a religious drama performance, creating a lively atmosphere. There were also student singing performances and a mass chorus by teachers and students. The finale was a big lucky draw, making the event even more exciting. The event ended with everyone participating in the Second Sunday of Advent Thanksgiving Mass. 2023-12-08Charity Karaoke CompetitionOrganized by the Student Union and Spiritual, Moral and Civic Education Team, supported by the Music Department and the Putonghua Department, Charity Karaoke Competition was held on 8, 14 and 20 December 2023. 2023-12-08Activities after the Feast of Immaculate ConceptionThis year, we had booth activities after the Feast of Immaculate Conception, with more than 10 participating groups. Students were able to play games and exchange for food, including cotton candy, popcorn, and shiu-mai. There were also lucky draws for students to win prizes and have a joyful Feast of Immaculate Conception. 2023-12-08Don Rinaldi Sodality OutingFive students from our association visited the DB100 Discovery Centre and Salesian Catechetical Centre. Students deepened their understanding of the life of St. John Bosco and the history of the Salesian China Province. Before the visit, everyone also made a pilgrimage to the Church of Mary Help of Christians. 2023-12-08Charity Service Experience by In-School-OratoryThe In-School-Oratory and HKFYG-SKW Youth S.P.O.T. collaborated to organize the Charity Service Experience. Seven students and parent volunteers go to the community every Friday evening to distribute food boxes to the elderly and bring love to those in need, practicing our school motto: "Alere Flammam". 2023-12-01School picnic day (Form 1)Form 1 students were arranged to participate in activities at the HKFYG Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp on picnic day. 2023-11-27Public Speaking Training ClassExternal mentors came to the school to give lectures and training to the Student Union executives and Form 3 leaders, hoping to enhance their confidence and public speaking skills for future activities, effectively demonstrating their leadership qualities 2023-11-25Yim Tin Tze study tourTo enhance students' understanding of cultural heritage, Hong Kong history, Catholic development, and cultivate field investigation skills, our school organized a Yim Tin Tsai field trip in Sai Kung. Students participated in a sea salt workshop to learn about the traditional industry of Yim Tin Tsai. They also visited cultural sites such as St. Joseph's Chapel and the Yim Tin Tsai Heritage Exhibition Centre. 2023-11-25Student Union CampThis activity aims to enhance the collaboration skill and leadership skill of student union members through adventure activities so as to help organize different student activities in the future. 2023-11-24"Ten Commandments of Classroom" poster design competitionThe Spiritual, Moral and Civic Education Team held a "Ten Commandments of Classroom" poster design competition in September and the awards were presented by Principal To at the morning assembly on November 24th. We hope that students will always remember the content of the Ten Commandments and become responsible and caring students. 2023-11-21Music FestivalThe Music Fortnight this year took place from 21st November to 30th November. We were honored to have alumnus and music educator, Mr. Anand Li, as the guest judge for the inter-class choir competition. Ms. Ko Ka Wai Jacqueline and Mr. Yam Bok Yin also served as guest judges for the individual and group music competitions. During the competitions, students showcased their talents bestowed by God and learned to appreciate and respect others while fostering a spirit of teamwork. 2023-10-13In-school organic farming interest classThe Spiritual, Moral and Civic Education team and Sow Garden organized an organic farming interest class for students. Through this opportunity, students can learn about the process of organic farming and experience the joy of harvesting. They can also appreciate the wonders of nature and God's grace, and develop good character and resilience.
