2001

  • 17th and 18th of February would be the School Open Day for the 50th Anniversary. The contents would be web pages centred on Information Technology and the history of Salesian English School.
  • Form 3 and Form 4 students made a classroom display. There would also be puppet shows in English, first aid demonstrations and music concerts.
  • At night, there would be a reunion dinner party at the King of Kings restaurant in the Central District.

2002

  • The alumnus of Tang King Po School, Dom Jose Song Sui Wan who succeeded as S.D.B. Bispo de Sao Gabriel Da Cachoeira, visited our school at 19th December.

2003

  • The "School Improvement Project" started at summer vacation and the date of completion would be planned in June 2006. The new extension would be situated just next to the school playground and it provided 3 new staffrooms, a common room and computer rooms for teachers and students.
  • Teams of Religious Studies, Moral and Civic Education would be combined as a new unit called "Committee of Religious, Ethics and Civic Education". Rev. Fr. Antonio Leung, S.D.B. was invited as the new convenor of the new committee.
  • In 36th Joint-School Science Exhibition, our school came first in "Best Proposal Award", "Best Design and Decoration Award", "Best Demonstrator Award", "Best Project Holder Award" and second in "Energy Efficiency and Conservation Award". Our exhibit convincingly won the overall champion that year. Next year, as delegates of Hong Kong, our school students attended the international science exhibition in Taiwan and obtained the third honour in Physics.

2004

  • Our school television station was set up this year. It provided places and opportunities for students to produce different TV programmes to assist teaching and school promotion.
  • Our alumnus, Yum Tsz Yin (1998-99), won the most reputable championship in the international conference. His thesis concerning mixing circuits and wireless communication system won the best honour and he was the first Asian student to get this prestige.
  • Continuing our best efforts in Joint-School Science Exhibition, our students got a tremendous performance and good result in the exhibition. We obtained the first in "Best Proposal Award", "Best Project Holder Award", and the second in "Energy Efficiency and Conservation Award". Our school got the overall champion and represented Hong Kong to attend the international science exhibition. We obtained the same result as in year 2004.

2005

  • The External School Review was launched from Education Bureau in October. From four different domains: Management and Organisation, Learning and Teaching, Student Support and School Ethos, and Student Performance, our effort and work were highly recommended.

2006

  • Our alumnus,Dr. Wong Chung Kwong was invited to address the ceremony of our Speech Day.
  • A grand celebration of 55th Anniversary of our school was held on 14th and 15th January. It included the school open day and banquet.
  • Our alumnus, Choi Kar Lam (2001-02), got the best honour in his academic performance from the University of Science and Technology.
  • Our school had a great participation and contribution in different events of DB100.

2007

  • Our school joined the English Enhancement Scheme. With the financial support from the Education Bureau, we could improve both teaching and learning through developing a holistic school-based plan, building up sustainability and a collaborative teaching culture, and organising different English programmes to individual differences through NETS.
  • The new extension of our school was completed in January. Our school supervisor, Rev. Fr. Matthew Chan Hung Kee, S.D.B. was invited to preside the blessing ceremony.
  • n March, our school joined the "Enhancing English Language Teaching Project". The objective was to help teachers prepare NSS curriculum.
  • The Focus Inspection of the key learning area in Personal, Social and Humanities Education was held in October. The feedback of our school performance was good.

2008

  • To activate the progress of Liberal Studies in NSS curriculum, our school joined the 'teaching and resource network' of the Liberal Studies in Eastern District. In September, our school was invited by the Education Bureau to be the main resource centre in Eastern District. Teachers were welcome to share their teaching experience and resources.

2009

  • The Focus Inspection of the key learning area in Mathematics Education was held in January. The general performance was satisfactory.
  • Professor Tony F. Chan, our school graduate of 1968, now the President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, was invited as our honourable guest to address the assembly and present certificates and prizes in the Annual Speech Day on 12th December. Other guests included:
    • Mr. Kwok. Eric P.S. from Managing Director of Pofield Holdings Limited
    • Professor Fan Yiu Kwan from Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications
    • Professor Lai Bo Shan from Faculty of Medicine, CUHK
    • Mr. Lo King San Christian Family Service Centre
    • Mr. Cham Ka Sing Education Bureau
    • Mr. Yip Kin Cheong S.S.O.B.A Mrs. Siu Natalie S.S.P.T.A
  • Father Alexander Ma passed away peacefully on 28th December. The memorial service was held at the school entrance for our school students and teachers.
  • Our student Mak King Ho obtained brilliant results not only in Singles and Doubles for secondary students in All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Tournament, but also in Heng Seng All Schools Championships. In the above championship, he got the first-runner up among 1220 competitors. He also received a scholarship of $1000.

2010

  • In August, Mr. Lam Yuk Tai retired from office and Miss Josephine To was appointed as the first female Principal in Salesian English School.
  • In September, the first executive committee was held for the 60th Anniversary Celebration.
  • In July 2010, our graduated student Wong Chi Fung (5C) was awarded the Good Citizen Award by Hong Kong Police Force for reporting and witnessing a case of disorder in public places. He worked with another witness and arrest the suspect.
  • In August, Mr. Lam Yuk Tai retired from office and Miss Josephine To was appointed as the first female Principal of Salesian English School.
  • In September, the first executive committee meeting for the 60th Anniversary Celebration was held.
  • Our alumni have fundraised and planned to organize Salesians English School Development Fund for the school to apply in order to support the school educational development.
  • To praise students who excel the best in area of sports, academic and personal qualities, alumni graduated in 1979 have run Prominent Athlete Award Scheme, in order to enhance our students' interest and engagement in joining sport activities.
  • 43rd Joint School Science Exhibition was held from 27th to 31st of August in Central Library underground exhibition hall. Themed with "Science has no boundaries, safety flavors itself", our school participated in the competition with BRASIER and awarded 2nd runner-up of the Best Booth Design Award, 2nd runner-up of the Most Popular Participating School Award and 2nd runner-up of the Overall Award.
  • Mr Leung Francis Pak To, our graduate of 1971 was invited as an honorable guest to address the assembly and award certificates to the graduates of 2009-10.
